We hope you enjoyed the Fifth Annual Collingswood Book Festival. See you next year!

Attention Kids: Welcome to Loompaland

Be sure to check out LOOMPALAND at the Collingswood Book Festival. We’ll be in a new location on Haddon Avenue this year! LOOMPALAND is all about fun! Kids will have the chance to participate in various activities promoting books and reading. Children can make a variety of craft items FREE OF CHARGE at the Craft Tent at the corner of Haddon Avenue and Irwin Avenue.

Cheerful festival-goers gather with friends in Loompaland.

Children's Authors:

For the entire day, there will be live entertainment and readings by some of your favorite authors and illustrators. Click Here for a listing of authors and illustrators performing in LOOMPALAND.

More Music!

This year, Loompaland will expand its musical offerings. Leading the musical contingent is Two of a Kind. This award-winning, nationally touring, husband-wife duo specializes in interactive musical programs for children and families. And returning this year is Kin Eagle, AKA Kim and Danny Adlerman. Their new CD Listen Up! is now available. They will be joined by Nana Star. The authors Elizabeth Sills and Elena Patrice are the granddaughters of Nana Star’s creator. This book is their first publication. And look for an appearance by Blue Lou and the Bully Fish, a new children’s musical from Big Splash Productions that combines singing fish with life lessons about dealing with bullies.

Workshop for Young Poets:

The Collingswood Book Festival will offer a Poetry Workshop for students in 4th, 5th and 6th grades. The Workshop will be held at 1:00 PM in the Collingswood Library during the Festival.

Award winning poet Darcy Cummings will lead the Workshop. She teaches writing for the Critical Writing Program at the University of Pennsylvania, for the New Jersey Writers Project, and for the Visual Poetry Program of The Public Arts Project at Rutgers University in Camden.

Pre-registration is required for participation in the Workshop. Applications will be available at the Collingswood Library and in Collingswood schools in September.

Get A Clue:

It’s not too late to participate in the Get A Clue contest this summer at the Library! You can still get your Clue Game stamped and receive prizes. When the contest is over on September 7th, turn in your Clue Game to be eligible for additional prizes at the Book Festival. Ducktective Web, who performed at each grade school, will be drawing additional prize winners at the Craft Tent at Noon! Prize Winning names for both contests will be posted at the Craft Tent after 12:15 PM.
