Attention Kids: Welcome to Loompaland
Loompaland Alley is a street for children where you'll find interactive and fun-filled activities to nurture an interest in reading. All crafts are free. Young children will be able to make bookmarks in the shapes of kites, as well as decorate "Quiet Reading" door hangers. There will be stenciled magnet bookmarks for the older kids, and embroidery thread bookmark/friendship bracelets for teens. Stop by the First Baptist Church of Collingswood's MAKE YOUR OWN BOOK booth, talk to Cinderella, and get a free washable tattoo at Bon Bon's Party and Events. Receive a bookmark with your name in calligraphy from Philadelphia Calligrapher's Society, and step inside a Bubble at the Garden State Discovery area. Learn how to do yoga with Yogawood, play and jump with Jump Bunch, and dance and sing with Jubilee Children's Entertainment. The Collingswood Rotary Club will have a water display and a free beanbag toss for prizes. St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church & Food Pantry will have little pots to paint and plant seeds. Do crafts with Tippie Toes Child Care, learn about activities at Camden Children's Garden, and join the fun with hula-hoops at Collingswood Patch. There will also be a fire engine to climb and explore, free face painting, free balloons, a free raffle, and the opportunity to make paper! Numerous authors will read their stories and entertain with music and songs. The Collingswood Library will sponsor a craft tent with lots of great things to create. Library staff will perform two puppet shows, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Bring the children and enjoy the fun!

Cheerful festival-goers gather with friends in Loompaland.
Children's Authors: A special area will be set aside for children’s authors who will be personalizing and signing their books. Many will also hold demonstrations and performances for the kids.

Children will also enjoy meeting special guest Kathy O’Connell, host of WXPN’s award-winning program Kid’s Corner, and one of the country’s pioneers in children’s radio education and entertainment. Without question, some of the best entertainment of the Book Festival is in LOOMPALAND, from music to magic to colorful crafts!
