The Music in My Heart

The 17th Annual Walt Howat Youth Poetry Competition is inviting submissions from poets in grades 2 through 8.

Do drums make your heart dance? Does your favorite song make you want to sing out loud? Then grab your pencil – it’s time to turn those musical feelings into poetry! Whether it’s about a melody, a favorite singer or group, an instrument, a musical memory or your grandma’s favorite song, we want to hear YOUR poetic voice!

The contest submission deadline has been extended to Sunday, August 17th. Join poet Suzanne Gili Post for a workshop to help spark ideas for your contest entry at Collingswood Public Library, Peter Childs Meeting Room, Tuesday, July 29th, from 1-3 pm.
